Understanding Phishing
Phishing attacks impersonate banks, government agencies, or employers to steal your password or money.
Warning Signs
- Suspicious sender email address (not the official domain)
- Urgency and threats: "Your account closes in 24 hours!"
- Generic greeting: "Dear Customer" instead of your name
- Hover over links before clicking to see the real URL
- Unexpected attachments
If You Spot Phishing
- Do not click links or open attachments
- Report to your school IT coordinator
- If you accidentally clicked: change passwords immediately
